Staithes

For the last 3 nights we have been staying in Staithes  were my dad's family came from. We did lots of things that he used to do when he was a boy, such as going to the pub, fishing for little crabs which are called Doggers in Staithes and we went to Pacittos In Redcar where Grannie comes from which is an ice creamery and had the best ice creams ever. We also saw the oldest lifeboat in the world, built in 1802. Then we had lunch with dad's cousin  Margret and she gave us 30 pounds each! So here's what I bought: the second and third hunger games, some lollies and a Dr.Who build-your-own sonic screwdriver set. We also had the best fish and chips in the world at Whitby and went to Whitby abby an old monastry. We saw the old coble boats that are the local fishing boats and in the heritage centre there were lots of pictures of my great-great Uncle Bill Harrison and his Staithes fishing coble Coronation Queen, we have some pictures of them at home. I am going to miss Staithes. Here are some photos:

Chatsworth house & cavendish hotel

Today we left our cousins in Sandhurst  to go to Chatsworth in Derbyshire. We visted Chatsworth house, it is like a castle/mansion/church place but is actually the home of the Duke of Devonshire. It is very beautiful historical place. It was very very interesting. We are staying tonight at the Cavendish Hotel which looks out onto Chatsworth. Here are some photos:

Wisely flower garden

Today we visited the Wisley flower gardens with my Uncle and Aunt but it was pouring with rain! We learnt some interesting facts about roots. Did you know some trees move?, some prevent others from growing near them?, neither did I till we visited the wisley flower gardens. Here are some photos:

Sandhurst assault Course & tanks

Today we visited the Sandhurst assault course and some of its cannons and tanks with Uncle Nick and Kitty,  it is where they train the British army cadets. We climbed the ropes it was really fun. Aunty Pippa made a rocky road fridge cake, 10/10 it was delicious. Here are some photos:

Legoland!

Today we went to, you guessed it, Legoland! We went with Aunty Pippa and Kitty and rode on heaps of rides, my favourite was this dragon ride, it went straight up then straight down and onto it's side, it was scary but that's what makes it fun. We also went on a viking ride where you sat in a round thing that tumbled down a big river and got sprayed with water. After that we went on a log ride where you went up a big waterfall and then down it, you got soaked. I made the mistake of sitting at the front it was the worst. We also did the Atlantis ride in a sub and learnt about some sea creatures. Here are photos:

Nice yurt!

Sorry its been a while there was no wifi at the yurt and dads iPad credit ran out. So we stayed the night in a Yurt in the Sussex forest owned by dad's friend Charles. I did a bit of inquiry because the yurt place is all about living off the land and it was really interesting and fun.  At night  we lit lots of candles and had pizzas cooked in a wood fired oven by Charles & Lisa, 10/10 for them. On the way we went to Annn Boliyn's castle we went into two mazes, one was trees and the other was a water maze when you stepped on a pressure pad water came out all over you!.

Bye!

Ok so today was our last day staying with dads friend Joe. first we went on a boat trip to Greenich which is where time is measured from. When we got there we went on a ship called the " cutty sark" and no that is not a misspelling of shark. After that we had horrid sandwiches from a food marks and Spencer's. Mum and dad liked them but my rating is 0.1/10. When we got home we played soccer and minecraft for the first time in a while with Max and Ella. Joe said it was the best day ever. Here are some photos:
